Rest in peace, Dad. March 17, 1934 – August 24, 2020
Just three months after my mother passed away, my father passed away. He was 86 years old. It was a little over a year after his wife, my step-mother passed away. His brother also died the same year at age 87.
For the last ten years he was in a nursing/rehab after suffering a major stroke at a powwow in New Hampshire. This left him with aphasia and paralysis of his right arm and leg.
I’m sure the lack of any visitors (due to the pandemic), and especially losing the daily companionship from his wife, contributed to his lack of will to continue on.
He will be missed. See you again someday, Dad.
He was very proud of his American Indian heritage. He was well liked in the native community and he attended, and vended at, powwows throughout the northeast.
