Aug 28, 2024<\/strong> So…this has been in my drafts for a very long time and after just now reading it, I think it’s good to go as a part one. Another post will be my “adventures” in IL and then the return trip. I shouldn’t have waited so long, since memories have slightly faded.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, greetings from Illinois. I’ve been visiting and staying at a friend’s house. I thought I was going to take a ton of photos and videos along the way but traveling alone makes that difficult. That’s only partly <\/em>an excuse. I’m going to try to do better on the return trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t finish moving out of the house. I would have never gotten out of there and I had campground reservations. When I return I’ll have to get my sons to help me finish that job. I’ll have to re-arrange the storage unit first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RV did great throughout the whole trip. Before heading back, I’ll get it an oil change, etc. Same with the car. While visiting at my friend’s house, I’ve been trying to get the RV better organized and clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towing the car? Piece of cake! The base plate and wiring and stuff was supposed to take three days to install but it took longer. I found out later, there’s just one guy there that does that stuff, and he got sick…just before the weekend…hmm. Anyway, I got my demonstration, paid the huge amount of money for the setup, and was on my way, car in tow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got all my reservations made with hardly any problems. Because I was running so late, I skipped Vermont, which was going to be a moochdocking and visit with cousins. I had planned a Vermont trip in July as well, so it was a good buffer and I will still see them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skipping VT, my first stop was at Rondout Valley RV Campground in Accord, NY. It took me about five hours to get there. This is a Thousand Trails campground. I wish it was for more than one night. I had a nice, quiet river as my back yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
